Dr Louise Shaw trained at Sheffield University and undertook higher specialist training in Manchester. She specialises in Geriatric Medicine and currently is employed as a Consultant Physician at the Royal United Hospital, Bath.
Her sub speciality interest is in stroke medicine and she is the lead Physician for strokes in Bath. She is responsible for the Acute Stroke Unit at the RUH, Bath and also the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit at Chippenham Community Hospital.
She treats over 700 patients with stroke and TIA each year and assesses many other patients with collapse or 'funny turns'. She also manages other patients admitted acutely unwell with general medical problems.
