Personal Profile

Lucy Khan is a full-time consultant breast and oncoplastic surgeon. She trained at the world-renowned Edinburgh Breast Unit under the mentorship of a number of internationally recognised breast surgeons, including Prof Mike Dixon OBE. She has a large experience of lipofilling (liposuction and transfer of fat to the breast), having completed around 100 fat-transfer procedures for breast reconstruction and correction of defects following breast surgery. Lucy is happy to discuss all aspects of symptomatic, screen-detected and cosmetic breast surgery. She has published and presented internationally on the subject of immediate lipofilling in breast reconstruction, her BMJ review on breast infection is used by national NICE guidelines and she recently contributed to the ABS working group looking at gaps in breast research, published in Lancet Oncology.

She continued her training as a senior breast fellow at Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey, where she honed implant-based reconstructive techniques and gained experience in cosmetic breast surgery including breast augmentation, breast uplift and breast reduction. She has responsibility for teaching and training junior doctors and surgical trainees and is a Member of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers.
