After completing specialist training in the UK as an ophthalmologist, Mr Kasmiya joined King’s College Hospital as substantive consultant taking the lead for Diabetic Eye Screening at Bromley in south London area, the DESP program is in partnership with Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals.
In addition, he has proactive role in medical and clinical research and teaching prominent international researchers on subjects related to eye diseases. As a result, he was appointed as an honorary lecturer at the Imperial College London faculty. He is also a speaker at many ophthalmology meetings and is an examiner for the King's College University hospital.
Since qualifying as a consultant, he has led retinal services in different trusts including Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and involved in anti VEGF injection treatment for age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, laser treatment and cataract surgeries.
With more than 20 years of work experience as an eye specialist, including more than two years of fellowships, Mr Kasmiya has consolidated his clinical knowledge, following performing thousands of cataracts surgeries and the ability to use different type of lenses, including multi-focal, toric and spheric IOL. Most of which were accomplished to the highest standards with very low complication rate, that are well below the national standard.
His passion is helping patients improve their sights and provide professional and truthful advice alongside the best evidence practice in regard to their eye health.
