Mr. Madhu Tiruveedhula is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital.

His surgical practice covers all aspects of diagnosis and treatment of paediatric orthopaedics and children and adult foot and ankle disorders. His sub-specialty interests include:

  • Paediatrics Orthopaedics: Assessment and management of paediatric orthopaedic conditions including limb deformity correction using techniques of Internal and /or external fixation

  • Adult Foot and Ankle Disorder: Correction and treatment of ligament injury, bony injury or deformities around children and adult foot and ankle - using techniques of special plaster casts, splints and surgical intervention using techniques of arthroscopic surgery, internal fixation or external fixation including circular frames
  • Preservative Hip Surgery: Preservative hip surgery in adolescent and young adults with hip pain using techniques of hip arthroscopic surgery.

Mr. Tiruveedhula developed his special interest in paediatric orthopaedics and foot & ankle surgery early in his orthopaedic training in Yorkshire while working with prominent consultants in Leeds and Hull. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Tr & Orth) in 2011.

His skill and expertise is a product of excellent senior training and fellowships in centres such as Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, University Hospital in Southampton and Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital in central London. He worked as consultant in Evelina Children Hospital before his substantive appointment in Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital.

Mr Tiruveedhula has published in national and international peer-reviewed journals on paediatric orthopaedics, hip surgery and trauma. He is actively involved in supporting juniors in audits and clinical research. He authored a book chapter and advises potential authors and researchers. He is on the review panel for esteemed medical journals and ensures best practice by attending national and international scientific meetings.

Outside of medicine Mr. Tiruveedhula loves playing cricket, badminton and organising local social events.
