Mrs Mamta Pathak qualified in 1996 after completing her undergraduate training at King George Medical College, Lucknow University, India. She worked as a trainee in London for four years in the North East Thames Deanery and then completed her final training in the West Midlands. Mrs Pathak has been a Consultant Gynaecologist at Worcester Acute Hospitals NHS Trust since June 2009.
During her time at Worcester Acute she has developed a comprehensive ambulatory gynaecology service and expanded the outpatient hysteroscopy capacity and developed a service for endometrial ablation and hysteroscopic sterilisation without the need for general anaesthesia.
Mrs Pathak’s main clinic interests are in laparoscopic surgery and hysteroscopic surgery and she also offers a one stop service for women suffering from menorrhagia, heavy/painful periods. She is a strong believer in minimal access surgery and office based procedures which include laparoscopic hysterectomy, ovarian and tubal surgery. She has also been trained to perform office based procedures which allows rapid treatment and discharge like hysteroscopy, endometrial ablation for heavy periods and hysteroscopic sterilisation for permanent birth control. She speaks fluent English and Hindi and can follow Punjabi.
Outside of her clinical commitment Mrs Pathak enjoys reading, music and gardening.
