Personal profile

Dr Mandy Forbes undertook her Clinical Training at the University of Edinburgh. She has a number of years’ experience working in Adult Mental Health. She also has experience working with patients experiencing psychological difficulties related to their physical health, including Chronic Pain, Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiac Problems and is the Former Clinical Lead of Clinical Health Psychology, NHS Tayside.

Dr Forbes has also worked with Emergency Organisations providing input to Post Trauma intervention teams. She has also worked with a number of Private organisations providing stress management and psychological well-being programmes.

She has a special interest and experience related to Psychological problems related to sports performance, including mental health problems and has worked with a number of elite athletes, sporting bodies and teams.

Dr Forbes has served on UK and Scottish Psychology Committees, related to psychological treatment and policy guidelines.

She has held honorary lectureships at St Andrews Medical School, and the University of Dundee Psychology Department. She has also taught at the University of Dundee Medical School as well as the School of Nursing teaching both medical and nursing students.

Dr Forbes also provides medico-legal assessments related to personal injury.

She is registered with a number of Private Insurance Companies.
