Mr Parulekar trained in ophthalmology in Oxford where he subspecialised in squints and neuro-ophthalmology. This was followed by fellowship training in children’s eye disorders at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto and in adult and child squint surgery at the Western General Hospital, University of Toronto.
He is a consultant at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and has an active academic and clinical practice. He is on the editorial and review boards of several prestigious journals, and has numerous publications, book chapters and lectures to his credit. He also works closely with charities in India, Africa and the UK.
