Mr Marcus Green:

"Outside of orthopaedics, I have many varied interests both sporting and non-sporting, Although a keen runner, my main sporting activity is hot air ballooning. I compete at national and international level representing Great Britain in both European and World-class events and being second in our national championships for two of the last three years. I have flown in extreme conditions including high altitude endurance races in the Alps with good success. I have held a pilots licence for over 30 years and flown in events around the world. I also act as the medical representative for lighter than air aviation with the CAA this involves discussing with balloon pilots their medical fitness to fly. Currently, as part of a conservation project, I am replanting a 50-acre area of ancient woodland with saplings grown from initial seed converting it to its original status as a bluebell wood."
