Personal Profile

Mr Mark J.A. Turner is a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon specialising in Dentofacial Deformity, Head and Neck Surgical Dermatology and Oral surgery. He was appointed to Peterborough and Stamford NHS Trust in 2010. Having graduated in Dentistry at the University of Birmingham in 1993 he worked in general dental practice in Bingham Nottinghamshire and Leicester Royal Infimary Maxillofacial Unit in so completing the postgraduate Dental Fellowship in 1996. He read Medicine at Wolfson College Cambridge and after Junior Doctor posts in Cambridge, Bedford and Nottingham attained the core surgical membership and began specialist training in the West Anglian rotation.

After 6 successful years of training including a Fellowship at Hanover (Germany) and a Cosmetic Reconstruction Felllowship in the Department of Plastic Surgery Addenbrooke’s Hospital (Cambridge) he was appointed in Peterbrough. He has published papers and presented widely in the specialty journals and at international conferences. He is a registered specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with the General Medical Council as well as an Oral Surgery Specialist with the General Dental Council.

As a member of the skin cancer multidiscplinary team he is integral in managing head and neck skin cancer. He undertakes all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery excluding oral cancer and is a teacher and trainer for junior surgeons, general medical and dental practitioners.
