Training and Appointment
Dr Martin Punter graduated from the University of Manchester in 2000. After working in South Wales and the Walton Centre he completed a PhD in stroke at St George's University of London. He trained in neurology and stroke medicine in the North West and London and was appointed consultant in neurology and stroke at Greater Manchester Neurosciences Centre in 2012.
Dr Punter's NHS practice is at the Comprehensive Stroke Centre at the Greater Manchester Neurosciences Centre, and the Royal Oldham Hospital. His private practice is based at BMI the Highfield Hospital and The Alexandra Hospital where offers consultations for patients suffering stroke, transient ischaemic attack, and stroke prevention.He is an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Manchester and remains actively involved in research as an investigator for clinical trials and regularly teaches and examines.
Dr Punter is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London.
