Dr Hough has been an NHS anaesthetic consultant since 1999. He provides compassionate and personal anaesthesia for patients undergoing all surgical procedures.
Whilst he works principally in the NHS, he also works in a number of private hospitals with surgical colleagues whose skills he respects.
This enables a team approach to clinical work and a comprehensive and holistic method of caring for patients.
Dr Hough remains interested in patients as people, and tries to ensure that he brings a personal approach into his anaesthetic practice. Having been on the receiving end, Dr Hough appreciates what a difference this makes to your care and recovery from an operation.
In addition to being registered as an anaesthetic consultant, he is also a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, having completed additional medical training prior to anaesthesia.
This is useful for preoperative evaluation of patients‘ other medical complaints, and ensures a constructive discussion of risks and benefits of undergoing surgery.
At times this facilitates caring for higher risks patients, so that they may benefit from an operation despite significant medical conditions.
Usually Dr Hough sees patients by direct referral prior to surgery from Consultants with whom he has an established professional rapport.
If however, you feel that you might benefit from a separate discussion about anaesthesia prior to surgery please feel free to make contact.
