Personal Profile

Dr Mike Hickman is a Consultant Cardiologist who manages all aspects of adult cardiovascular disease.  He has a special clinical and research interest in complex cardiac diagnostic imaging and complex cardiac pacing for heart rhythm disturbances.

Training and Appointment 

Michael Hickman graduated from St. Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School and undertook his subsequent training in General Medicine and Cardiology at a variety of hospitals in London. In addition to his degrees in Medicine and Psychology he spent over two years undertaking a postgraduate clinical cardiology research degree, which culminated in the award of an MD doctorate.  

Dr Hickman has published many peer-reviewed scientific papers in highly regarded cardiology journals and has been a regular speaker at national and international scientific meetings. Prior to taking up his position as a Consultant Cardiologist, Dr Hickman spent three years as a Senior Registrar at St George’s Hospital, London where he gained further wide-ranging experience in all aspects of cardiology.

Dr Hickman’s NHS practice is based across two sites: The Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford and St George’s Hospital, Tooting.

He hosts a weekly clinic for private patients at Mount Alvernia Hospital.
