Mr Michael Wardlaw is an experienced clinician with over 38 years' experience as a podiatrist and a consultant podiatric surgeon. He qualified in 1978 and has a wide range of hospital and community posts. He is only one of 60 consultant podiatric surgeons employed by the NHS and is recognised as a specialist by all major health insurance companies. He was appointed consultant podiatric surgeon in Maidstone in 2004 by the NHS. Mr Wardlaw has also been employed by the NHS musculoskeletal clinic in Milton Keynes since 2005.
Mr Michael Wardlaw’s philosophy is to “try the simple things first” e.g orthotics/insoles and to avoid surgery except where necessary. He offers a specialised assessment and treatment service and offers both surgical and non-surgical treatments for foot problems. Many foot, lower limb and back pains can be caused by a biomechanical (gait) problem which can be helped with orthotics. However, there are many painful foot problems which do require foot surgery in order to correct them, and he can perform this surgery under a local anaesthetic, sedation or a general anaesthetic as required. Mr Wardlaw undertakes a wide range of corrective foot surgery.
Mr Wardlaw is one of 60 consultant podiatrists in the UK recognised as a specialist by insurance companies.
