Mr Metwally has long held an affinity with Sheffield, having completed his initial training at the Jessop Wing and Royal Hallamshire Hospital in the city. After a short period working as an NHS Consultant in Dundee at Ninewells Hospital and Medical School, he was delighted to return to Sheffield to take up a post as a Consultant at Thornbury Hospital and the Jessop Wing at Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
This remains his primary NHS base today, although he also serves private patients across Sheffield and South Yorkshire. He is proud to provide a truly personalised level of care for his patients and is dedicated to helping the thousands of women who experience distressing gynaecological or fertility issues during their lifetime.
Mr Metwally also has a strong research interest and has published widely. He also continues to present regularly at a national and international level and is chair person for the training committee at the British Fertility Society, training the fertility specialists of the future.
