Mr de Liguori Carino completed his surgical training in 2005 in Italy, with a period spent at the Ohio University Hospital, Columbus, USA. Mr de Liguori Carino spent 4 years training in HPB and transplant surgery at the University of Liverpool and Leeds, before being appointed as a Consultant in Manchester in 2009.

He specialises in laparoscopic (keyhole), hepatobiliary and pancreatic (HPB) surgery, working in one of the busiest HPB units in Europe. It provides state of the art care for a vast population of the North West of England, exceeding 3.5 million.

Often, referrals come from other areas of the UK and from abroad. His work and that of his colleagues is recognised around the country and abroad for innovation and excellent results.

His skills include advanced laparoscopic surgery and Irreversible Electroporation (IRE), for which he has given a major contribution to establish this technique in the UK. His unit is currently one of the very few offering this service in the UK.

He is committed in liver and pancreas cancer research programs taking part in multiple ongoing international clinical trials.
