Mr Nkem Umez- Eronini

Personal profile

Mr Umez-Eronini qualified from the University of Southampton 1996, and went on to carry out basic science research in tissue engineering, for which a doctorate in medicine (MD) was awarded from Newcastle University in 2005. He has been a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and on the specialist register for Urology since 2009.

Mr Umez-Eronini trained in the North East at the Freeman Hospital Newcastle prior to taking up post in North Cumbria as a Consultant Urological Surgeon and clinical lead. He was appointed as the chair for Urological cancer in the Northern cancer network, prior to leaving England to take up an appointment in Glasgow as a urologist working at the Royal Infirmary, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and Gartnavel General Hospital.

Clinical Interests

Mr Umez-Eronini has a varied interest in all aspects of general urology and specialises in updated techniques which facilitate the diagnosis and treatment of urological problems, as well as treatments that aim to minimise discomfort and facilitate early recovery. He specialises in the treatment of voiding problems, investigation of repeated infections and the diagnosis and screening for all urological cancers. Mr Umez Eronini has a specialist interest in minimally invasive surgery particularly of the Kidneys and for stones.
