Dr P Punia Is a consultant medical oncologist at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Birmingham . He is a visting oncologist to City and Sandwell NHS Trust. He is a principal investigator in a number of ongoing national and international clinical trials in hepatobiliary and colorectal cancers . He is education lead for acute oncology at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Before commencing his job at Queen Elizabeth Hospital he worked as a Senior lecturer/ honorary consultant at St James Institute of Oncology, Leeds. He Qualified from India in 1998. He was trained in medical oncology at St James Institute of Oncology, Leeds as part of Yorkshire deanery rotation. He completed his general medical training at Leeds teaching hospitals and and South Manchester University Hospital.

He has been regulary involved in Clinical research and medical education during his training. He has got a postgraduate degree in clinical education. Dr Punia specialises in treatment of primary and secondary liver cancers, Cholangiocarcinoma, Pancreatic cancer and colorecatal cancer.
