Mr Panos Sarhanis has been a Consultant Gynaecologist at North West London Hospitals since 1996. He graduated in 1985 and trained as a Gynaecologist in Manchester and North Staffordshire. He was awarded the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Wellbeing Award for his research in Ovarian Cancer in 1994 and was subsequently appointed as a Lecturer in Gynaecological Oncology at the University of Sheffield before taking up his post as Consultant in London.
Mr Sarhanis has developed extensive expertise in major Gynaecological surgery including surgery for Gynaecological Cancers. He is one of the founding members of the West London Gynaecological Cancer Network, as well as a Council Member of the British Gynaecological Cancer Society.
He also treats postmenopausal bleeding and suspicious pelvic masses, as well as suspicious cervical and vulval lesions. If cancer is excluded, many lesions, such as polyps or cysts are managed with minimally invasive surgery.
In benign Gynaecology his interests include the management of heavy periods with endometrial ablation and the operative management of Endometriosis and benign ovarian cysts. Mr Sarhanis is a BSCCP accredited Colposcopist and a member of the British Society for the Study of Vulval Disease.
