Mr Paul Spraggs is a consultant ENT/ head & neck and thyroid surgeon at the Basingstoke and North Hampshire hospital.
He has a special interest in the surgical treatment of skin cancers, thyroid diseases, disorders of the salivary glands, rhinoplasty, facial aesthetic surgery and reconstructive surgery of the head and neck.
His undergraduate and postgraduate surgical training was in London and he also trained in head and neck surgery in Miami, Florida. He was awarded: the Astor Fellowship; the TWJ Fellowship; the EAFPS Fellowship in facial plastics surgery in Helsinki; and the Simpson Smith Fellowship. From 1997 to 1998, Mr Spraggs was Fellow in Head and Neck Surgery at the Royal Marsden Hospital. He became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1992.
Mr Spraggs is the Clinical Director and Lead for head and neck services at the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He is a member of both the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital’s Skin Cancer and Thyroid multi-disciplinary team and the regional head and neck cancer team based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford.
He teaches the next generation of consultants. He has been the Training Programme Director for surgical registrars in the south Thames region. He sits on the Royal College of Surgeons of England’s Board of Examiners, the Intercollegiate Board of Examiners and the Special Advisory Committee (SAC).
