Peter started his postgraduate training in Cape Town, South Africa and completed training in Chemical Pathology in Nottingham, UK. He was appointed as Consultant Chemical Pathologist / Metabolic Physician at Nottingham City Hospital in 2005.  

He has a special interest in Inherited Metabolic Diseases and Laboratory Quality Management and is the clinical lead for the Inherited Metabolic Disease section of the laboratory. He leads the department’s Metabolic Bone Disease service and has clinical responsibility in the Cardiovascular Risk Clinic (including Lipid Disorders) at the Nottingham City Hospital.

He has a keen interest in Postgraduate Education and is a member of the Specialist Advisory Committee for Chemical Pathology / Metabolic Medicine of the Joint Royal Colleges’ Postgraduate Training Board.
