Personal Profile
Pratik Shah is a highly experienced gynaecologist having been a consultant for more than 20 years. He is currently a consultant at the Royal Free Hospital NHS trust and the clinical lead for the Barnet and Enfield community gynaecology services. He is the lead for Obstetrics and Gynaecology medical students at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals.
His clinical interests include the management of abnormal bleeding, fibroids, endometriosis, prolapse, pelvic pain and menopause. He is an accredited colposcopist and reviews women with abnormal smears and cervical abnormalities.
Outside of work, he loves the outdoors with his best achievements being climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and doing the coast-to-coast Hadrian’s wall walk. Being born in Mombasa, he would regularly swim in the Indian Ocean and continues to swim regularly now. He relaxes with yoga and meditation.
He has been married to his wife Jagruti for over 35 years and has three daughters, all of whom have followed him into the medical profession. Very much a family man, he lives with and looks after his mum (in her late 80s) and his aunt (in her 90s). With all these women in the house his waistline needs constant attention which he manages with his addiction to spinning.
His main ethos is to continue enjoying his work and family, to do the best he can for his patients and to never stop learning from others.
