Mr Raj Saha is a Consultant Gynaecologist with a special interest in gynaecological cancer services at the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust. He has completed research that led to an MD in gynaecology and has also trained in medical Oncology obtaining a diploma in the field, from this he became a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1996 and is now an assessor at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, where he assists in assessing clinical safety and governance within hospitals.
Mr Saha trained in North London on a specialist training scheme in Gynaecology and Obstetrics in the busy inner city London hospitals including The Whittington, The North Middlesex University Hospital and The Royal Free Hospital & Medical School. He was an Administrative Senior Registrar and also Clinical Research Fellow at The Royal Free Hospital where he trained in cancer surgery and in minimal access surgery. Mr Saha currently works as a volunteer and Medical Expert for Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust, assisting with enquiries relating to cervical cancer.
Mr Raj Saha strongly believes in offering women the freedom to make informed decisions regarding their own health issues and this is the fundamental reason behind why he wanted to be a gynaecologist. He has always had an interest in gynaecological surgery and its further developments and feels strongly about the cosmetic aspect of surgery, and he strives hard to maximise the benefits of surgery with minimal discomfort. He also works closely with his colleagues and often receives complex referrals from other consultants.
Mr Raj Saha has extensive experience in general gynaecology, menstrual disorders, endometriosis, polycystic ovaries, hormonal problems, menopause, recurrent infections, cystitis, vaginal or uterine prolapse, pelvic floor surgery, polyps, ovarian cysts and hysterectomy’s, especially key-hole surgery. He is an accredited colposcopist and trainer with further accreditation in gynaecology ultrasound, therefore having an expertise in minimal access surgery, outpatient hysteroscopy and ultrasounds. He provides a “One Stop” care clinic for women with menstrual disorders, bleeding after menopause and concerns of ovarian cysts.
Mr Raj Saha is experienced in major gynaecological surgeries as well as cosmetic surgery including complicated major surgery, vaginoplasty, labial refashioning and reduction. He has specialist knowledge and skills in managing problems such as abnormal cervical smears, screening of gynaecology cancer, diagnosis and treatment of gynaecology cancers.
