Dr Rashid has been a Consultant since 2018. She graduated in 2007 from University College London and undertook her Foundation year training in the South Thames Deanery. She completed a prestigious Academic Clinical Fellowship in Allergy in 2012, from Brighton. This was a 3-year post, which comprised comprehensive training in General Medicine, as well as research and clinical experience in Allergic disease. She subsequently took up a post in Allergy at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London for over a year. She became a member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2013. Following that, she moved to the West Midlands where she completed her Higher Specialist Training in Dermatology.
Dr Rashid understands that skin conditions can be very distressing and considerably impact individuals’ quality of life. She believes everyone should be able to enjoy healthier skin and is committed to helping people to achieve this. Her caring manner and meticulous approach, help her to provide high standards of care to her patients.
She has over 12 years of experience in treating patients in the NHS. She is on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council and is a member of the British Association of Dermatologists. She currently works as a Consultant Dermatologist at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire, where she runs regular General Dermatology clinics, skin cancer clinics and skin surgery sessions. She has recently started a joint Dermatology/Gynaecology clinic, which aims to provide specialist treatment for patients with vulval skin problems.
She has been involved in several research projects and audits, and regularly participates in the teaching of medical students and junior doctors. During her specialist dermatology training, she was awarded the Gold Award of Excellence for showing outstanding contribution to quality improvement through a clinical audit she carried out. She has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals and has presented her work at regional and national conferences. She has also co-written a chapter in the 'Treatment of Skin Disease' Dermatological textbook.
She is interested in all areas of skin disease. She treats skin cancer, sun damage, moles, skin lumps, viral warts, hyperhidrosis, hair loss, pigmentation problems, and inflammatory skin diseases such as eczema, contact dermatitis, psoriasis, acne, hidradenitis suppurativa, vulval skin problems and urticaria.
Outside work, she enjoys keeping fit by playing tennis, cycling and going to the gym. She is passionate about travelling, and also likes reading and spending time with family and friends.
