Personal profile

Dr Iyer has over 38 years of experience in acute and chronic pain management. He was the clinical lead for pain medicine and Clinical Director for Anaesthetics, Intensive Care, Theatre Services and Pain Management Care at the Heatherwood and Wexham Park NHS trust before retirement from the NHS.

Prior to joining the NHS, he was commissioned in the British Army as Consultant for Anaesthetics and Resuscitation with special interest in Pain Management. He firmly believes that pain conditions should be treated as early as possible, with the appropriate use of multidisciplinary techniques to improve patient quality of life.

His clinic offers a comprehensive service, starting with expert diagnosis and followed up by high quality medical treatment that is complemented by good support from specialists in physiotherapy and psychology. He is trauma informed and follows an upstream approach to medicine. He has authored a chapter on Post Surgery Pain Syndromes in Textbook of Surgery.

He also does Medico-legal Reporting on Pain issues especially in Whiplash and CRPS cases.
