Mr Ravi Goyal was appointed a consultant in 2009 having completed his Specialist Orthopaedic Training in the North West England Rotation. During this time he completed the AO trauma fellowship at Duke University, North Carolina USA and a lower limb joint replacement fellowship at the Royal Preston Hospital. In addition he has received training at centres in New York and the Mayo clinic, USA.
Mr Ravi Goyal’s main interests are with disorders of the knee including ligament injuries (cruciate ligaments), cartilage restoration surgery, meniscus surgery, joint reconstruction, knee-cap (patella) disorders and dislocation, revision knee surgery and all aspects of knee trauma.
Mr Ravi Goyal uses the latest keyhole techniques for his knee surgery. Mr Ravi Goyal is committed to providing a specialist knee trauma service including fractures around joint replacements. Mr Ravi Goyal also receives referrals on painful joint replacements of the knee.
Mr Ravi Goyal is dedicated to training and education and is responsible for the regional training programme for ‘future consultants in training’ in their preparation for their final exams. He has also provided faculty services on regional courses including exam preparation and revision knee surgery. Mr Goyal also has interests in the use of media applications in surgery.
