Mr Marundanayagam obtained his primary medical qualification (MBBS) from JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research) a reputed teaching Hospital in Pondicherry, India in 1996. He obtained M.S (General Surgery) in 1999, FRCS (Ed) in 2001, FRCS (Glasg) in 2002 and FRCS (General Surgery) in 2007. And completed his Higher Surgical training in the West Midlands.
Mr Marundanayagam undertook a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic hepatobiliary and pancreatic procedures in King’s College Hospital, London. He undertook another fellowship in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery including liver transplantation for a year in Royal Free Hospital, London.
He was appointed as a Consultant Hepato-biliary and Pancreatic Surgeon at the Liver Unit in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham in 2010.
