Dr Remigiusz Lecybyl graduated at Karol Marcinkowski University of Medical Sciences, Poznan, Poland. His first job was at Palium Hospice and this job generated his particular long-term interest in chronic pain. After part-time study in basic sciences he obtained his PhD degree in molecular biology in 2002 and in 2004 he completed anaesthetic training.
From 2005-2008 he worked in King’s College London concentrating on pain models, pain biomarkers and pain translation. In 2008 Dr Lecybyl joined NHS and is currently working as a Consultant in Chronic Pain in University Hospital Lewisham. He is an active clinician with interest in neuropathic pain, cancer pain, chronic low back pain and pain biomarkers.
