Clinical Interests

  • I am a Head and Neck specialist Plastic Surgeon with an interest in all aspects of Head and Neck Aesthetic and Reconstructive surgery. I also have a specialist interest in management of facial palsy in both restoration of smile but also in aesthetic treatments to restore balance to the asymmetric face. I manage all aspects of cosmetic plastic surgery including breast, abdomen and hand surgery. As Clinical Lead for Skin Cancer, I also manage all aspects of skin oncology and reconstruction. I have a long-standing Botox and injectables practice and offer all forms of cosmetic filler treatments to lips, tear trough, cheek, 7-point facelifts, deep perioral, nasolabial, marionette and jowel lines as well as non-surgical rhinoplasty.

Personal profile

I am a fully trained Plastic Surgeon in the Northeast of England on the GMC Plastic Surgery Specialist Register. I work as a Substantive Consultant in the University Hospital of North Durham specialising in Skin Cancer, Head & Neck Reconstruction, Facial Palsy and all aspects of general Plastic surgery including breast, trunk and abdominal surgery. I have over 12 years of experience in all aspects of Plastic & Aesthetic Surgery and I am the current Skin Cancer Lead for the Trust.

I qualified from the Royal Free & University Hospital Medical School, London in 2002 gaining an additional BSc in Immunology and Cell Pathology from University College London with First Class Honours. I subsequently trained in the world renowned centre of Plastic Surgery in Chelmsford and in large Teaching Hospitals such as St George’s, London and Newcastle. During this time I gained Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, a Masters in Wound Healing from Cardiff University and gained my final Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in Plastic Surgery in 2016. My higher surgical fellowship was as the top ranking Interface Trainee for Head and Neck Surgical Oncology at Guy’s & St Thomas’, London.  During this year I gained invaluable cosmetic training in the prestigious London Bridge, and Weymouth Street Hospitals. I have developed a well-established Cosmetic Injectables Practice working with the Sk:n Clinic group in London - East Finchlay and Hampstead, and at James Cook University Hospital in the Northeast.

I regularly attend training sessions and teach on a number of Northern Deanery Plastic Surgery Courses. I have published widely with 20 peer review publications, and over 40 presentations across the UK, Europe and the USA. My aim is to provide an expert service with attention to detail that delivers natural and predictable outcomes for all my patients.
