Mr Assassa has over 16 years experience as a Consultant in Gynaecology and is a specialist in Urogynaecology (problems with Bladder control, continence and Vaginal Prolapse). He has pioneered New Surgical and none-surgical therapies for continence. Often making treatment quicker, more confortable and with a shorter recovery time.

Nearly all his operations are performed through the vaginal as he is an expert in vaginal reconstructive surgery.

Mr. Assassa represents the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecologists in helping NICE (The National Institute of Clinical Excellence) review new surgical techniques in Urogynaecology.

Mr. Assassa has been the Chair of Clinical Audit for the British Society of Urogynaecology and still works on the committee. He regularly audits his work and the results are among the best in the country for low complications, high success rates and high patient satisfaction.

Mr. Assassa has been the Chair of the Bladder and Bowel Foundation the largest national charity for continence problems. This is the charity that advertises on TV encouraging people to seek help for continence problems.

Mr. Assassa is also the national and international surgical trainer for a number of surgical companies. He regularly trains consultants from all over the world in new surgical techniques.

Mr Assassa is an expert in managing menstrual disorders (period problems) and performs all form of operations for these problems. He is able to treat the vast majority of women with vaginal therapies and will usually perform hysterectomy if necessary through the vagina with NO abdominal cuts.
