Dr Rob Ellis is a Consultant Dermatologist practising at the James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough. After qualifying from the University of Leicester in 2003, he undertook his Higher Dermatology training in the North East. He attained a Doctorate of Medicine in the field of melanoma from Newcastle University in 2013.
In his NHS work Dr Ellis undertakes regular clinics in general dermatology, but has a special interest in the diagnosis and surgical management of skin cancers – especially pigmented lesions and melanoma. He is heavily involved in laboratory and clinical melanoma research through Newcastle University, having published and presented in this field internationally.
When not treating people’s skin Rob loves nothing more than tending his carrots and raspberries with his wife and 2 young children. Occasionally, he can be found clad in lycra swimming, cycling or running.
