Personal profile

Mr Roger Currie has been a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in NHS Ayrshire and Arran since 2003. He graduated in Dentistry from the University of Leeds in 1989, and Medicine from the University of Glasgow in 1996. He trained in Leeds, Bradford, Sunderland, West of Scotland and Christchurch, New Zealand.

Mr Currie has been an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Glasgow since 2005. He is recognised by NES as a trainer and Intercollegiate examiner for FRCS in OMFS.

He has been the Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee at BMI Carrick Glen Hospital since 2011, past Chair of the Scottish Oral and Maxillofacial Society, past NHS Ayrshire and Arran Skin Cancer Multi-Disciplinary Team Chair and current lead Clinician for Skin Cancer Managed Clinical Network for West of Scotland since 2016.

Mr Currie has been an elected member of the Council of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh since 2010, and he is the author of three book chapters and 30 clinical papers.
