Dr Strauss is a consultant dermatologist who lives and practices in Harrogate. He has been working as a Consultant Dermatologist since 2006, is a fully trained dermatologist and listed on the GMC specialist register.
Dr Strauss qualified from Erlangen Medical School in Germany in 1995. His Basic Medical Training allowed him to get to know Yorkshire with posts in Leeds, Scarborough, Hull and Sheffield.
After completing his doctoral thesis, he then worked as a registrar in dermatology in Sheffield, London and Buckinghamshire and completed his specialist training as a dermatologist in Leeds. During his four years at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, he gaining specialist experience in all dermatological sub-specialties.
He has been holding Consultant posts in Doncaster and Mid Yorkshire Hospitals before joining Harrogate and District Foundation Trust in 2009. Dr Strauss manages all aspects of skin disease.
During this training Dr Strauss developed a special interest in mole checks and surveillance, skin cancer and skin cancer surgery.
He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians of London, the British Association of Dermatologists, the British Society of Dermatological Surgery and the European Academy of Dermato-venereology. His research activity has led to more than 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Dr Strauss is involved in specialty training, is the Governance-, Audit- and Surgical Lead for his specialty in Harrogate District Foundation Trust.
