Dr Rosaria Buccoliero graduated with honours in medicine from the University of Siena, Italy in 1999.  She then did a postdoctorate fellowship at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel where she published several articles on neurometabolic diseases.

In 2003, Dr. Buccoliero returned to Siena University to specialise in Neurology. She has been working in the UK since 2007, and in 2008 joined the Harrogate District Foundation Trust as a Consultant Neurologist where since 2012 she has been the lead of the Parkinson's Disease Service and regularly contributes to research concerning Parkinson's Disease.

In addition to an interest in Parkinson's disease, Dr. Buccoliero runs clinics where she sees patients with other conditions such as migraine/headache, peripheral neuropathy, multiple sclerosis, stroke and epilepsy.

Dr Buccoliero is married with one daughter and two guinea pigs. She enjoys cooking Italian food, travelling, reading detective stories, and participating in a variety of physical activities.
