Dr Saleem Akhter trained at Manchester University Medical School and qualified in 1990. He has worked at North Manchester General Hospital, Blackburn Royal Infirmary and Queens Park Hospital. After completing his general practice training in 1995, he joined a practice in Chadderton as a full- time partner.
He is currently working at the same practice. In addition, to providing general medical care, he also carries out minor surgery and joint injections his surgery. He has an interest in the management of diabetic patients in the community.
He is also a GP tutor for medical students from the University of Manchester. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening and playing squash.
