Dr Bajwa graduated in Medicine in 1998 and completed his further (basic and higher) specialist training from 2002 to 2010 in the East Midlands deanery. He obtained extensive experience during his rotational posts in various teaching and District General Hospitals in the region. He also undertook an Endoscopy fellowship in Sheffield Endoscopy training centre, which is one of the JAG (Joint Advisory Group on GI Endoscopy) accredited National Endoscopy training centres based in Northern General Hospital, Sheffield.
Dr Bajwa has been a Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist based at the Northampton General Hospital since May 2010. He holds a dual certificate of completion of training (CCT) in General Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He was awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from the University of Nottingham in December 2010 and was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London in 2015.
Dr Bajwa is a General Gastroenterologist and manages a broad range of conditions affecting intestines and liver. He sees patients with a wide range of symptoms including indigestion, diarrhoea, altered bowel habit, rectal bleeding, abdominal pain, unintentional weight loss, abnormal liver functions, jaundice and anaemia. He has a particular sub-speciality interest in the diagnosis and management of inflammatory bowel diseases (Ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease), Coeliac disease, Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and Irritable bowel syndrome.
