Dr Susnerwala studied oncology at the Tata Memorial Hospital, Bombay and became a Consultant Clinical Oncologist in 1990. He moved to the UK two years later and underwent the UK training programme. In 1996 he was appointed as Consultant Clinical Oncologist at the Rosemere Cancer Centre at the Royal Preston Hospital.
He specialises in the treatment of Colorectal, Breast and Urological cancers. Dr Susnerwala has been the Lead Investigator in many Clinical Research trials to advance the treatment of breast, colorectal and urological cancers. He has also been involved in numerous other research activities to improve the treatment of breast and colorectal tumours.
He has many publications to his name on a wide range of subjects within the Oncology field. He frequently speaks at International Oncology Meetings. Dr Susnerwala is also currently involved in the teaching of Medical students and sits on the Interview panel at the University of Manchester. His expertise have been widely sought for many years both in clinical practice and education and he has held a number of positions that reflect this, these include Clinical Director for Oncology Services, Educational Supervisor, College Tutor (Royal College of Radiologists), Overseas Doctors Mentor, Member of Postgraduate Committee (Royal Preston Hospital), Audit Lead for Oncology, Lead Cancer Clinician for Lancashire Teaching Hospital chain and is a member of the Clinical Governance Committee for Oncology.
