Mr Shayan Ansari is an Ear, Nose and Throat surgeon with specialist interest in head and neck diseases. He completed his training (CCT) in West of Scotland. He also has experience of working in plastic surgery, vascular surgery and neurosurgery. During his training, he has worked in various academic and clinical units including busy head and neck unit in Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town, South Africa.
Although Mr Ansari’s main clinical interest is in diagnosis and management of head & neck pathologies including malignant as well as benign diseases including thyroid and parathyroid diseases, he has quite broad clinical practice of managing general ENT pathologies of adenoids, tonsils, middle ear, noses, paranasal sinuses and surgical / non-surgical aesthetics. Mr Ansari routinely runs a neck lump / swellings clinic and voice disorders clinic in his practice.
Mr Ansari is Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in the University of Glasgow and has been involved in teaching undergraduate medical and dental students, speech and language therapists, undergraduate and postgraduate university students. He has also been part of postgraduate doctors teaching at different levels including General Practitioners.
Mr Ansari is also tutor in Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians of Glasgow endorsed ENT and Head & Neck courses. He is also founding trustee for two charities (RAHII & PGEG Scotland) that provides education and medical relief efforts in Scotland and developing countries. These include regular clinical and non-clinical lectures / workshops in UK and Pakistan.
