At BMI Goring Hall Hospital Mr Karmani can see patient who are experiencing chronic back pain and neck pain. He can diagnose the pain and offer a bespoke treatment plan based on his patients’ individual needs.
He is highly experienced and qualified from Kings College London in 1997. He completed his specialist training in London and the south east, with international fellowships in trauma and spinal surgery in New Zealand and Australia.
He was appointed as a Consultant to Brighton and Sussex University hospitals trust, the regional spinal centre for Sussex in 2007. He was the lead spine surgeon at this hospital and chaired the South east spine club.
Mr Karmani specializes in all disorders of the spine including neck pain, low back pain, sciatica, trauma and tumours of the spine, degenerative disc disease, spondylolisthesis (lower back bone condition) and scoliosis (sideways curvature of the spine).
He has pioneered the use of minimally invasive spine surgery. The focus of his work is to improve the diagnosis and treatment of all disorders of the spine.
Mr Karmani is active in research and teaching and the development of new techniques to treat spinal disorders.
Mr Karmani over the years has done relief work in the war zones of Bosnia, Kosovo and Afghanistan, the jungles of Brazil and with children with facial deformity in Africa.
