Personal Profile
Mr Gibson qualified and trained in General Surgery in the West of Scotland before conducting a specialist fellowship in Bariatric and Upper GI surgery in Sydney, Australia.
He currently practices in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow, as a specialist General and UGI surgeon conducting gallbladder, anti-reflux and hernia surgery. Interventional endoscopy and ERCP also form a large part of his practice.
Mr Gibson has an interest in training junior surgeons and is currently deputy TPD for core surgical training in the West of Scotland.
Mr Gibson conducts research in his speciality and is also the principal investigator at QEUH for a national randomised trial comparing surgery and medical management for gallbladder problems.
