Personal profile

Mr Stubington was educated at Tonbridge School and St.Thomas’ Hospital Medical School in London, where he was awarded the Borland Scholarship, the John Mellanby Scholarship, the Grainger Testimonial Prize and a Medical Research Council Scholarship with three degrees [BSc(Hons), MB, BS]. His basic surgical training was in Leeds where he gained Fellowships of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of both England [FRCS] and Edinburgh [FRCS(Ed)]. He undertook higher surgical training in General Surgery then Renal Transplantation in Nottingham and was awarded the Sir Peter Medawar Medal by the British Transplantation Society and a Doctorate [DM] by the University of Nottingham for his research into the causes of rejection of transplanted organs. His higher surgical training in Urology was in Derby and Nottingham where he gained his Intercollegiate Surgical Fellowship in Urology [FRCS(Urol)]. He has published papers on endourological techniques in the international urological literature as well as papers on renal and cardiac transplantation and vascular surgery.

Mr Stubington was appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Leighton Hospital in 2000 and established his private practice at BMI The South Cheshire Private Hospital the same year. His area of special expertise is endoluminal endourology (addressing stones and tumours through natural or small holes) but he offers a comprehensive service in general urology as well (see below).

Mr Stubington is a BUPA Consultant Partner and all charges are in accordance with BUPA Consultant Partner Guidelines. Fixed-cost packages are available at The South Cheshire Private Hospital for those patients who are not insured and want the security of knowing that their medical expenses will not increase in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

Mr Stubington lives in the Nantwich area and is married to a former nurse with whom he has five children. He has a passion for classical music, particularly baroque, oboe and English Choral Church music. He sings with the Nantwich Choral Society and plays classical music whenever he operates. His other interests include sailing, swimming, tennis and growing vegetables

  • Haematuria (blood in the urine) and haematospermia (blood in the semen)
  • Urological cancers (kidney, bladder, prostate, testicle)

  • Kidney stones and complex stone surgery (PCNL and flexible ureterorenoscopy)
