Clinical Interests

Diagnostic and therapeutic flexible sigmoidoscopy, oesophago-gastro-duodenoscopy, colonoscopy, bowel cancer and screening, colorectal diseases, inflammatory bowel disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, oesophageal and gastric cancer plus diseases of the liver, pancreas and biliary system.

Personal profile

Dr Simon Whalley trained in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Royal Free Hospital and Barts and The Royal London Hospitals, London.  He is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at West Suffolk Hospital and previously an Honorary Consultant at Royal London Hospital. Dr Whalley developed the liver service for patients at West Suffolk Hospital where he is also Clinical Lead for Endoscopy with special interest in both Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy.
