Personal profile

After obtaining a first class honours degree in Human Physiology, I entered Medicine and qualified from the Welsh National School of Medicine in 1983. I completed several posts in Medicine before entering cardiology training at the Westminster Hospital. I have worked at several London teaching hospitals and finished my cardiology training in the Transplant Department at Harefield hospital.

I have worked for 2 years in Boston, Massachusetts, USA at the Boston University Medical Centre. My experience is in heart failure, atrial fibrillation, amyloid and sarcoid heart disease. I have several hundred publications and am currently the Director of Research & Development at the hospital.

  • Fellow of Royal College of Physicians of London and Fellow of the American College of Cardiology
  • Member of British Society of Echocardiography

Clinical Interests

Having also accreditation in General Internal medicine I have broad cardiology interests that include: Heart failure, Atrial fibrillation, Palpitations, Hypertension, Chest pains and more specifically an interest in Amyloid and Sarcoid heart disease.
