Mr Stefan Hermann Weitzel

Personal profile

Mr Stefan Weitzel was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgeon at Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup in 2004. He completed his postgraduate training at the North Thames Higher Specialist training rotations including placements at The Royal London, The Royal National Orthopaedic (Stanmore), Great Ormond Street and The Norfolk and Norwich Hospitals. Mr Weitzel undertook subspecialty training in foot and ankle surgery in Vienna and at University College Hospital in London.

Mr Weitzel now practices at The Princess Royal University Hospital and Orpington Hospital. A specialist in trauma and orthopaedic surgery he also has a major interest in foot and ankle surgery and lower limb surgery including hip and knee replacement.

Clinical Interests

  • His special interest comprising more than 50% of his work is surgery of the Foot & Ankle including complex forefoot surgery particularly redo-bunion surgery. 
  • He also offers procedures to the mid and handfoot including ankle arthroscopy and ligament reconstruction for sport injury patients and ankle fusion and replacement surgery for degenerative and rheumatoid conditions.
