Dr Kotsiopoulou acquired her Degree in Medicine from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 2002. She completed her postgraduate training and the qualifying exams in the specialty of Haematology in March 2011 in Greece. In the same year, she relocated to the UK.

She was employed at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust as a locum Specialist Registrar for 6 months. Subsequently, Dr Kotsiopoulou was appointed at a substantive Specialty Doctor post at Croydon University Hospital NHS Trust until 2014. Subsequently, she was appointed to a full-time substantive Consultant post at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust, where she has been working ever since.

Dr Kotsiopoulou is the lead for the Haemoglobinopathies Service and deputy clinical lead for the Haematology Laboratory of the Trust.

Clinical Interests

Her areas of interest are General Haematology, Consultative Haematology and Red Cell Disorders.

Her practice also covers malignant, such as lymphoproliferative diseases, myeloproliferative conditions and plasma cell dyscrasias, and non-malignant Haematological Diseases, Transfusion and Thrombosis.

She performs diagnostic procedures, bone marrow aspiration and trephine biopsy and peripheral blood and bone marrow smear interpretation and diagnosis.
