Miss Sumita Nayak has more than 25 years of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) experience having graduated in medicine from MKCG government medical college, India in 1991 and completed postgraduate (MD) training in O&G from a busy tertiary centre, SCB medical college India in 1996.

Following this, she worked as an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist in two different states of India, which included private practice in Mumbai. Subsequently, she moved to Kuwait where she worked as a Registrar in O&G at Ahmadi hospital, Kuwait from 2002-2007.

Miss Sumita Nayak became a Member of the Royal College of Obstetrician and Gynaecologist (RCOG), UK in 2004. Having acquired the overseas experience, she came to UK, where she worked as a registrar in New Cross Hospital, Stafford Hospital, Wexham Park Hospital and Epsom Hospital from July 2007 until Dec 2008.

Miss Sumita Nayak signed onto a permanent post as Speciality Doctor in Wexham Park Hospital, where she was trained further by a Senior Gynae-Oncologist Consultant and completed her advanced training modules in colposcopy in 2012.

Miss Sumita Nayak continued to be involved in further training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the UK and completed the postgraduate certificate in Teaching & Learning for Health Professionals (TLHP) in 2013; and completed the ‘Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Ultrasound’ in 2016.

After obtaining specialist registration through GMC in March 2015, she joined as a locum Consultant in the same trust from Sept 2015 for a year before joining as a Substantive Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with interest in Oncology in Wexham Park Hospital, Frimley Health NHS Trust in Oct 2016. She was subsequently awarded the Fellow of Royal College of Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in 2016.

In addition to her clinical duties as a substantive consultant, Miss Sumita Nayak has been efficaciously shouldering the responsibilities of RCOG College Tutor and the management role of Gynae-Oncology Unit Lead of Wexham Park Hospital.
