Mr Thomas is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the County Durham and Darlington NHS Trust.
Training - Mr Thomas did his higher surgical orthopaedic training in North East England. He then underwent further fellowship training in hip and knee replacements from the University of Toronto, the prestigious centre for hip surgery, Wrightington and then the Golden Jubilee Hospital, Glasgow.
He was awarded the British Orthopaedic Association travelling fellowship to Endo-Klinik, Hamburg and University Hospital, Copenhagen, where he received training in hip / knee replacements and the rapid recovery programme.
Practice - Mr Thomas' clinical practice includes, management of lower limb disorders; including hip and knee replacements, knee meniscal injuries and general trauma.
Others roles- Mr Thomas has a keen interest in academic activities, and also actively involved in teaching and is a foundation programme tutor for junior doctors . He is a faculty member at FRCS (Orth) preparatory courses.
Mr Thomas has numerous presentations at national and international meetings; including the British Orthopaedic Association, European Orthopaedics, Canadian Orthopaedics and American Academy, has several publications as first author and also co-authored an FRCS Orth book chapter.
