Clinical Interests

Dr Karpas specialises in adult mental health working with individuals who are experiencing a wide variety of difficult life issues including illness, stress, trauma, relationship difficulties, sexual abuse and/or symptoms of psychological disorder such as anxiety, OCD and depression.

Personal profile

Since completing her doctoral training in 1999 Dr Karpas has gained extensive experience working within Private Hospital settings, the NHS as well as a clinical manager and assessing psychologist for a large Employee Assistance Programme.

Throughout this time she has maintained a private clinical practice. Dr Karpas provides brief, medium and longer term interventions for individuals and couples. As a Chartered Counselling Psychologist her approach draws on Cognitive Behavioural (CBT), Psychodynamic, Mindfulness and Solution Focused therapies depending on the specific needs of the person. As part of her continued interest in Mindfulness Based Approaches (MBAs) she completed a 1 year training in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) in 2015.
