Personal profile

"Shafi specialises in blood-related cancers, as well as blood disorders like anaemias or those related to bleeding, bruising and blood clots - and also diagnoses blood disorders in the lab".

Having completed my General Medical training in UK, I started my Haematology training in Leeds and then trained at King's College Hospital, London.

I also worked in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This was one of the largest teaching and tertiary referral centre in the Middle East with a Bone Marrow transplant unit.

During my training and career I gained very valuable and broad based experience in General Haematology, Haemato-oncology, Bleeding and thrombotic disorders and Bone Marrow Transplantation. I am actively involved in Research and am the Principle investigator in various trials

I enjoy and have a passion for teaching. I have been actively involved in teaching medical students, GP’s and young doctors training for MRCP and MRCPath. I would be happy to lecture and participate in GP training programmes . I regularly lecture in national and international meetings.
