Dr Mahesh graduated from medical school in the year 2000, and has subsequently spent 12 years training.
Initially in 'General Internal Medicine' and later in 'Gastroenterology and Hepatology,' in various hospitals in the England and Wales, including liver transplant tertiary university hospitals and district general hospitals, thereby acquiring broad knowledge and experience.
This was further supplemented by an advanced interventional endoscopy fellowship in Australia.
Dr Mahesh’s initial years as a consultant were at Blackpool Victoria hospital, and is presently working as a lead provider of interventional services at East Lancashire NHS trust.
Dr Mahesh is also the lead clinician for nutritional related issues in the hospital and lead therapeutic endoscopy provider for 'Lancashire and South Cumbria cancer network'.
Nationally, Dr Mahesh is the education and media co-ordinator for UK and Ireland EUS Society and the QI lead for Endoscoic Ultrasound for British Society of Gastroenterology/Joint Advisory Group
