Personal profile

Dr Mahesh graduated from medical school in 2000 and has subsequently spent 12 years training. Initially this was in General Internal Medicine and later Gastroenterology and Hepatology in various hospitals in England and Wales. These include liver transplant tertiary university hospitals and district general hospitals, where he acquired broad knowledge and experience.

This was further supplemented by an Advanced Interventional Endoscopy fellowship in Australia.

Dr Mahesh’s initial years as a Consultant were at Blackpool Victoria Hospital and he is presently working as a Lead Provider of Interventional Services at East Lancashire NHS Trust. He is also the Lead Clinician for nutritional-related issues in the hospital and Lead Therapeutic Endoscopy provider for 'Lancashire and South Cumbria cancer network'.

Nationally, Dr Mahesh is the Education and Media Co-ordinator for the UK and Ireland EUS Society and the QI lead for Endoscopic Ultrasound for British Society of Gastroenterology/Joint Advisory Group.
