Mr Vijay Gadhvi, at The London Independent Hospital, treats patients with vascular, venous and general surgical conditions.
Mr Gadhvi joined the London Independent Hospital and Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital as a Consultant Vascular and General Surgeon in 2012.
He graduated from Barts and The London medical school in 2000 with Honours- Distinction in Surgery- and during his undergraduate training he won the Draper’s scholarship and was awarded a first class Bachelor of Science degree in physiology and anatomy. He performs a regular sessions in the catheter laboratory carrying out diagnostic and therapeutic angiography; in theatres he performs on-table interventions and endovascular aortic aneurysm repairs.
He has a passion for teaching and training; he helped develop the undergraduate surgery training at Queen Mary University, is the lead for undergraduate surgical teaching at BTUH and is an examiner for undergraduate finals examinations for University College London.
He is involved in post-graduate training of senior registrars preparing for their final F.R.C.S. exit exam, he is a trainer on the basic surgical skills course and damage control surgery course and trains consultants in endovascular arterial surgery and minimally invasive varicose vein surgery.
